Sir, – The fact that qualified early years educators earn as little as €13 per hour may explain the preschool staffing shortage (“More preschools close over lack of staff as Government urged to `completely rethink’ approach”, News, August 31st ).
Until our profession is valued and recognised by both employers and Government, the staffing crisis will continue. A profession built on poverty pay will simply collapse. – Yours, etc,
