Sir, – Having recently had my first child, I became aware of the incredible role of the public health nurse who knocked on my door less than 24 hours after my discharge from hospital and also the Edoc out-of-hours GP service, both free and both providing invaluable peace of mind to a new mother. With winter approaching, I’m anticipating the annual onslaught of bad healthcare press but credit where credit is due, in particular to those individuals working within the service. – Yours, etc,
