Sir, – As a frequent user of the 4.50pm Enterprise train from Connolly Station in Dublin to Belfast, I am amazed at the lack of civilised boarding procedures in place. Once the gate is opened there is an almighty stampede to the train in order to secure a seat or at worst find a place to stand!
I have travelled by train across Europe and in the US where orderly queues are formed and boarding is a civilised process and everyone gets a seat.
What must our overseas visitors think when they witness the chaos that takes place as we try to get on the train? – Yours, etc,
HAROLD GIBSON,
