Sir, – I discovered this week that September 27th was the feast day of St Vincent de Paul, and that he was a prolific writer of letters, with 30,000 a suggested tally! I love this fact, as I too am a writer of letters, to grandchildren, family, friends, and occasionally to publications. But with the constantly rising cost of stamps in Ireland and in the UK, I doubt if St Paul would have kept up his massive output to the Christian world today. – Yours, etc,
JO ANN BURDEN,
