Sir, – Laura O’Mara (Letters, October 19th) referred to the boutique in Paris selling those clever socks that can be buttoned together before being washed. I guess one would need to remember to separate them before wearing them next time, to avoid echoing Neil Armstrong’s historic message from the Moon about “one small step”. – Yours, etc,
