Sir, – Further to “The Irish Times view on Junior Cycle reform: momentum needs to be maintained” (October 17th), the reform of junior cycle brought us class-based assessment. My understanding was that improvements were supposed to reduce pressure and workload.
Well, it didn’t. I saw a second-year student last year doing several projects last year on top of homework. They were very stressed. I wonder how many teachers were involved in the decision on reforms. – Yours, etc,
