Sir, – Wednesday’s front-page picture – taken by Sportsfile photographer Ben McShane – brilliantly captures the obvious anguish of Rhys Ó Mongaigh Cuidithe from Gaelscoil Míde having been on the losing side in a big match at the Cumann na mBunscol finals in Croke Park.
Nevertheless, may I suggest that it was a very good day at school for the young man.
In a society and at a time when our children are often over-protected from the hard facts and unpleasant aspects of life, this was a tough lesson for Rhys and his colleagues on the forever reality that things don’t always “go our way”.
