Sir, – It has been reported that the authorities are to do something about the threatening environment in the Talbot Street/Connolly Station area of Dublin.
On Wednesday, I walked from O’Connell Street to Connolly Station pulling a suitcase, after alighting from a number 16 bus from Dublin Airport.
Clearly, I was seen as an easy mark, a hapless tourist, perhaps, as I was approached twice in an aggressive manner during my short walk, with a demand for money.
When I refused both I was met with a torrent of abuse.
