Sir, – I read with interest Irish writers’ recollections of their memorable meals, mostly in exotic overseas venues, (Magazine, Food & Drink, October 28th).
I have sampled haute cuisine in many different parts of the world but my undoubted favourite meal was the tea and toast that my mother brought to me in bed every morning before I headed off to school. – Yours, etc,
