Sir, – A letter writer asks for the use of lights and hi-vis jackets by cyclists and pedestrians to be made mandatory during the shorter winter days. (Letters, November 23rd).
A wonderful idea.
Perhaps since motorists and cars are the road users that inflict the injuries on cyclists and pedestrians when collisions occur, would it also be a good idea to compel all cars to be painted in a hi-vis, luminous green colour? – Yours, etc,
