Sir, – Congratulations to The Irish Times on the publication of your Feeder Schools supplement on December 12th which made for interesting reading.
Brian Mooney led the way with “Six take-aways from this year’s listings”. Permit me please to add a seventh.
Catholic and other faith schools represent only 50 per cent of the post-primary school sector in Ireland. Yet they accounted for 92 per cent of the top schools listed with the highest progression rates in analysis on Tuesday’s front page.
Food for thought for those who clamour for an immediate end to faith-based schools. – Yours, etc,
