Sir, – I simply do not believe the figures quoted in your article in the Motoring section. (“Are electric cars burning through too many tyres?” December 13th). While it does not mention tyre prices, it does state the average service cost of a diesel car is €718. Personally, I have never spent more than €300, and that was with little fixes outside of the norm.
Where do these figures come from? Once again, the cost of motoring seems to be dramatically overstated. I’m beginning to worry. A lot. – Yours, etc,
