Sir, – While discussing Christmas traditions, Enda Cullen (Letters, December 20th) wonders if the 12 pubs of Christmas is a modern extrapolation of eating 12 mince pies in different houses. I always assumed the 12 pubs “tradition” was dreamt up by 12 publicans. – Yours, etc,
