Sir, – Minister for Integration Roderic O’Gorman has disputed claims as to whether An Garda Síochána was informed in advance of the designation of a disused hotel in Co Galway as a centre for asylum seekers. “In advance” seems to be the words in dispute.
The more important question should be when was the decision made. Full, early communication to all parties, communities, statutory bodies and the asylum seekers makes for better outcomes.
