Sir, – It’s a pity Pope Francis has had to make great efforts to ease up on restrictions by the Catholic Church on same-sex relationships (“Pope Francis formally approves allowing priests to bless same-sex couples”, News, December 18th).
It is a greater pity that religions are so merciless in thought and action in their condemnation of people who just love one another. – Yours, etc,
