Sir, – Further to Gearóid Ó Riain’s letter (January 11th), I should draw his attention to the imminent trialling of school uniforms in French schools, with the aim of reducing bullying, peer pressure and inequality among students.
Better that teachers spend a bit of their valuable time haranguing students over uniform compliance issues than students become subject to damaging harassment from their fellow students. – Yours, etc,
