Naming rights

Sir, – “Páirc Uí Chaoimh: Cork GAA chief says ‘we are listening to our members’ as talks continue with SuperValu” (Sport, January 17th) reminded me of the reputed conversation between Harold Pinter and Tom Stoppard about the renaming of London’s Comedy Theatre the Pinter Theatre, in honour of his many premieres there. Stoppard suggested that the kerfuffle over the honour to rename the theatre would have been easier dealt with by Pinter renaming himself Harold Comedy.

Step forward the new supermarket chain, SuperChaoimh. Much more of a catchy name! – Yours, etc,
