Sir, – Further to “Pubs – it’s time to declare them a cultural asset” (Opinion & Analysis, January 22nd), no phone use in a pub? Impossible. No television? Most have Sky News on all the time. Why? Music? When the music starts, the speech volume goes up. If you’re more than a couple of metres away, it’s just noise. Is it any wonder I don’t get out enough! – Yours, etc,
