Sir, – I recently spent 10 hours in the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital Cork, as a public day patient, for a minor surgical procedure. Every member of staff, from catering to consultant level, was kind and caring. The good-humoured banter amongst the staff was palpable and a joy to hear. – Yours, etc,
