A chara, – I was very pleased to read Brian Maye’s Irishman’s Diary (“Liberal outlook — Brian Maye on Sheelagh Murnaghan, an indomitable presence in NI politics”, May 21st) on Sheelagh Murnaghan, a trailblazer in both law and politics. Given her considerable achievements and contribution to public discourse, it was fitting that she also chaired the first meeting of the Hist at Trinity College Dublin at which women were finally admitted as members in January 1969. – Is mise,
