Sir, – Further to recent correspondence (May 25th), even at this early stage, we should start debating a few essentials for our new capital, so we have the decisions ready in about 30 years. Will it have a high-speed multitrack rail link to anywhere at all? Will it have a metro system? Will the local county councillors hold the power to stymie the growth of the new airport? And where exactly will we build the replacement for the as yet unfinished children’s hospital? – Yours, etc,

FRANK NEENAN,

Carlow.
