A chara, – After reading Colette O’Connell’s informative Letter of the Day (June 28th), I realised that I had been humming Percy French’s “Are ye right there, Michael?” in my head while reading it.

Sir, – The bus stop mysteries to which Colette O’Connell refers are not confined to Ennistymon. Walking through Ireland, you will often be delighted by the local bus but challenged by how to get onto it. Good luck with finding the stop, and enjoy reading the 2019 winter schedule.
I wrote about this in April to the CEO and “chief customer officer” of Bus Éireann. I should have pointed out that putting all this right nationwide might cost approximately the same as one new bus. And that other places manage simple, informative bus stops with no fuss. I have yet to receive a response. – Yours, etc,
