Sir, – Like Peter O’Sullivan (Letters, July 4th), I was deeply moved by Paul Howard’s article “I never loved an animal as much as I loved Humphrey. For 13 and a half years, he was my constant companion” (Life, June 30th).
A faithful animal can wrench your heart strings, and Paul Howard’s account of his life with Humphrey, his canine constant companion for 13½ years, did just that.
If there was an rip.ie facility for dogs I would contribute a condolence for Humphrey.
