Sir, – Pat Leahy reports that the hate speech Bill is to be delayed until autumn (News, July 3rd).
How the Government can justify bringing in this law and tying up limited and diminishing Garda resources at a time when law and order on our streets are collapsing is utterly beyond me and is an appalling reflection on the Government’s priorities.
It seems that they want nothing more than to prevent us pointing out anything that they would rather ignore or find inconvenient to have to acknowledge. – Yours, etc,
