Sir, – God be with the days when true fans could queue all night for concert tickets. At least it gave everyone a fighting chance. Of course there were many disappointments then too, but at least you made memories along the way getting to meet like-minded fans.
I now fear that the days of true fans getting to see their lifelong heroes are well and truly over. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – While acknowledging the efforts of Coldplay to reduce the direct “carbon footprint” of its current global tour, which it brands as “sustainable”, there seems to be a disconnect with reality here.
It is clear from media reports that concerts held in Ireland have a large number of international fans flying in from other parts of Europe and further afield.
Can I suggest that bands which boast of their sustainability credentials limit ticket sales to persons living closer to the venues? – Yours, etc,

Sir, – It’ll be interesting to see who among the movers and shakers and powers that be show up in the free seats and corporate boxes rattling their jewellery at the Oasis gigs in Croke Park. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Oh, Ticketmaster, where did it all go so wrong between us? When you first started to reject me, I felt bad. But I didn’t know that it was only a hint of what was to come. The error codes. Sigh. I should have read the signs. Your “502 Bad Gateway” and then the “500 Internal Server” error wounded my pride but nothing prepared me for the suggestion that I was a bot. How could you even think that?
I know now, after the rush, that it was you and not me. But I still feel it could have been so much easier. – Yours, etc,
JAMES O’SULLIVAN,
