Sir, – In the midst of all the suggestions on how to spend the Apple windfall, there has been zero mention of giving youth services a badly needed boost. In 2023, the spend on youth services was a lamentable €79 million. Surely at a time of rising anti-social behaviour and youth crime, greatly boosting youth funding would pay off in a reduced future prison population?
Should our Taoiseach wish to see all children of the nation achieve their potential, he should put our tax money where his mouth is. – Yours, etc,
