Sir, – You kindly published a letter from me (“Light-bulb moment”, April 4th, 2018) about a long-life bulb that I received while an audience member of RTÉ's Late Late Show in September 1998.
The “one for everyone in the audience prize” was a Philips SL9 Comfort 9W 350 lumen/230 v-50Hz bulb.
It gave up the ghost last night and died after 26 long years of superb light.
It must be a record?
