Sir, – Eoghan O’Mara Walsh (Letters, October 15th) writes that we should be impressed by the first transatlantic flight using so-called sustainable aviation fuel.
In fact, the UK Advertising Standards Authority subsequently banned the radio advertisement celebrating the flight as it failed to mention that the fuel used produced the same amount of carbon emissions as conventional jet fuel. – Yours, etc,
