Sir, – As a regular beach cleaner, it is wonderful to see far fewer plastic bottles and aluminium cans. The big scourge is single-use coffee cups. Lids being washed in on the tide, cups abandoned on the beach or stuck in rock crevices. We have a long way to go yet to solve this problem. – Yours, etc,
