A chara, – It is shameful that homelessness has risen 15 per cent in the past year to 14,760 people, including 4,561 children (“Homelessness in Ireland hits record high”, October 25th). I remember when everyone was worried homelessness might reach 10,000, now we’re thundering towards 20,000. We could already be at that number if everyone who is actually homeless was recorded.
It’s also curious that this news was released on a Friday afternoon of a Bank Holiday weekend rather than on a working Monday morning when everyone isn’t distracted. – Is mise,
