Working against the clock

Minute details

Sir, – The wonderful collection of historic clocks in Waterford’s Irish Museum of Time is a sight to behold. However, having to adjust the 600 time-pieces twice a year sounds mind-numbing. The pedant in me suggests that the clock collection should be redistributed to two different time zones in the museum, “Spring” (appropriately) and “Autumn”, with perhaps Vivaldi’s Four Seasons playing softly in the background. At least the winder-uppers should be consulted on the minute details and second opinions sought to ensure an even hand prevails. – Yours, etc,

PATRICK JUDGE,

Dún Laoghaire,

Co Dublin.
