On parade

Hope deferred

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – I sympathise with the thousands of people who turned up on O’Connell Street for a Halloween parade that never took place (“‘We are highly embarrassed’: creator of Pakistan website behind non-existent Dublin Halloween parade says it was a mistake”, News, November 1st). Having said that, I am not surprised. There have been lots of promises and false dawns for the capital’s thoroughfare, and nothing has ever turned up. – Yours, etc,

NEVILLE SCARGILL,

Bray,

Co Wicklow.
