Sir, – With an election just around the corner, would it be too much to ask for the elimination of all “Noddys” from stand-up TV interviews with politicians? It seems to have become normal practice these days to have at least one party member standing shoulder to shoulder with the politician and nodding away at every response while looking very impressed and smiling occasionally. If this is not possible, perhaps an alternative would be to get the interviewee to wear an oversized “Big Ears” uniform, thus sparing us having to suffer this annoying childlike routine from those Noddys in the background. – Yours, etc,
