Sir, – Despite the distancing of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael from the Green Party, it is worth nothing that the Greens are the only ones putting forward a big-ticket €10 billion public transport infrastructure investment, and we sorely need it.
In Bulgaria’s capital Sofia, a country and capital city comparable in size to Ireland and Dublin, although we have an economy that is six times bigger, how can it be that even with this massive financial disadvantage, they have an efficient metro direct from the airport to the city centre, and 14 tram lines, five metro lines and 90 bus routes?
