Sir, – For election after election, the only clear choice offered was a Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael-led government. Now these parties have told the electorate that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael in government together is our only option. The best option for themselves, perhaps, but not for the rest of us. Stability, they say. Yes, I guess if you are happy with things getting worse steadily and the same faces telling you that they are going to do wonderful things the next time, if you just give them one more chance. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have run out of excuses and are almost about to say that the dog ate their homework.
This Friday people have a chance to vote for real change, in particular in housing policy, and a different type of government led by a strong left presence. – Yours, etc,
