Madam, – I would like to disagree with Chris Horan’s suggestion of starting “a toxic radio station” and thereby isolating “negative economic stories” from “the business of entertaining people” (April 6th).
I am afraid it was what Chris Horan calls the “parking” of the negative economic stories out of sight of the rest of us over the past decade or so that has us in the current situation.
If we are to hold the powerful to account, we, the ordinary people need to know the bad news stories. If we do not we will think everything in the garden is rosy. Look where that got us. – Yours, etc,
