Sir, – May I suggest, The Sheahan Bridge, after Constable Patrick Sheahan who gave his life in a vain attempt to rescue a workman from a sewer at the junction of Hawkins Street and Burgh Quay on May 6th, 1905.

There is a monument to his memory at the spot, but I fear it may be moved to facilitate the Luas line. It would be a pity if this were to happen, but it would be particularly fitting if the the monument could be incorporated in the re-developed site. – Yours, etc,
