Madam, – Tom Cooper (December 30th) has an issue with the continued use of the name “Victoria Quay” for the part of the Liffey fronting the Guinness Brewery. If Mr Cooper consults the street sign attached to the wall on that quay he will see that it is translated into Irish as “Cé Bua”.
Translated back to English it is called “Victory Quay”.
