Sir, – It's true that Michael D Higgins is an exemplary President but there is no evidence that he would drift into indifference, fatigue and complacency during a second term (Jarlath Pius Mannion, July 13th).
After all, I don’t see the UK head of state, now in her 91st year, heading toward indifference, fatigue or complacency. – Yours, etc,
