Madam, - There are currently two strikes going on in this State. One involves men denying themselves food in order to highlight their plight of attempting to seek refugee status here. The other involves men denying the public their right to a basic transport system to highlight their plight of earning only up to €1,000 a week and having to contemplate certain changes to their work practice.
One wonders if this is what Michael McDowell had in mind when he paraphrased Michael Douglas's line, "Greed is good", from the film Wall Street and said that inequality was an incentive for the economy. - Yours, etc,
