Sir, - The No vote - a victory for liberal Ireland?
We believe in a liberal agenda. We oppose capital punishment, blood "sports", and nuclear weapons. We are vegetarians who follow an ethical shopping code. We support inclusive immigration laws, homosexual rights, and the availability of condoms and divorce. We believe everybody is entitled to as much freedom as possible - as long as the exercise of that freedom does not interfere with the rights of others.
Abortion not only interferes with the rights of the unborn - it obliterates them. Therefore, on liberal grounds, we totally oppose abortion. - Yours, etc.,
