A chara, - It was refreshing to see an article by Tim Pat Coogan on the peace process in The Irish Times. It seems no longer fashionable in the popular broadsheets to argue the nationalist line. This is highlighted notably in the articles of Mary Holland and Kevin Myers.
Some may argue that it highlights a maturing of the Irish mind-set, with regard to the Northern problem, to see Irish journalists espousing the unionist line. I believe however, that it is the responsibility of any national newspaper to give balanced reporting of a most complicated problem. I look forward to seeing some more articles in the Coogan mould. - Yours, etc.,
