Adjectives that should be banned?

Sir, – Norah Blandin (June 18th) lists seven "adjectives" she wishes to see banned. Nobody likes a pedant, but it behoves me to point out that five of her listed words are actually adverbs. That The Irish Times published her letter under the heading "Adjectives that should be banned" brings one pertinent adjective to mind: egregious! – Yours, etc,
