A chara, - Dr Padraic Conway, director of the UCD International Centre for Newman Studies, tells us that Cardinal Newman "understood and skilfully navigated the tensions and paradoxes involved in this juxtaposition [of Athens and Jerusalem]. He was a classic 'both-and' thinker."
This sounds important, and I am sure that that Dr Conway is undertaking important work on behalf of the nation, but I have no idea what he means.
