Sir, - The publication of AIB executive directors' remuneration prompts me to ask a question and question a myth:
1. What is it that these men, and their families, need, that bus drivers and their families should be able to comfortably live without?
2. Is it really the case that this level of reward is required to secure the services of managers who could run the bank at least as competently as the team currently employed?
Perhaps I just misunderstand the workings of capitalism, but, it is my experience that such incomprehension is frequently a consequence of some fundamental flaw underpinning the concept. - Yours, etc.,
