Sir, – Michael Cullen (Letters, November 25th) mentions the concept of sports teams from the whole island being “brought together” into single all-Ireland teams.
It should be noted that in the vast majority of cases (eg, boxing, rugby) they have not been brought together as they were never split. Semantics yes, but in the case of soccer – which did split – it is nonetheless important to note. – Is mise,
