Sir, - On October 28th I celebrated my 83 birthday and at 8am was sitting in bed having a cup of tea and reading my Irish Times. The phone rang and my son, Aidan, was calling from Melbourne, Australia. He is guitar technician with the rock group, Def Leppard who were on tour. Having wished me a happy birthday he said, "Hold on Dad, someone wants to speak to you". With that, people began to sing "Happy Birthday to You". And there I was, listening to a group of millionaires singing to an 83-year-old in the Cooley mountains, 10,000 miles away. Could I claim to be "the oldest rocker in town"? - Yours, etc,
