Madam, – Following weeks of inclement weather and general inconvenience to business, along with the usual festive break, I was glad to get back to work on Wednesday and had a lot to do.
Imagine my disbelief when I went first to the post office to post some letters and then to the bank to make a lodgement only to discover both closed and the post box at the post office stuffed to the neck with post! It was my understanding that, as Christmas Day fell on a Saturday, Monday and Tuesday of this week were bank holidays and it was to be business as usual from Wednesday. Can anyone now explain to me why they are closed and exactly how many days they need to be closed over Christmas? – Yours, etc,
