Sir, - I don't wish to appear regionalistic, but does anyone find it odd that, despite the setting of Alan Parker's film Angela's Ashes, there is hardly a Limerick accent to be heard? A slight quibble perhaps, but can you imagine a Scorsese gangster film set in New York in which the protagonist speaks with a pronounced Texan drawl?
Oh well, not to worry, the Yanks won't notice anyway! - Yours, etc.,
J.G. Byrne, Crescent Villas, Limerick.
