Sir,- Before the latest news of yet another terrorist crime in Spain is forgotten, I want to join my protest to all those back home who cannot take any more of this absurdity, pain, anger, frustration.

ETA fought Franco; ETA has become Franco - the dictatorship of a few who have decided what the majority wants and how this should be achieved. The Basque people are saying: "Enough. Stop this killing." Just a few, feeble minds will rejoice will laugh at the suffering of the people they wanted to bring freedom to. Freedom from what, I wonder? Fear, insecurity, hatred that they themselves, ETA, have planted in their land?

I condemn ETA, I detest what they represent. They have fought for their ideals as cowards.

It would not be a surprise to admit that I do not understand what these ETA criminals are trying to achieve. How do we understand violence? How indeed can we defend ideals with violence, with such violence?
